This species belongs to the succulent leafless Cynanchum group, it has brittle articulated stems. In habitat it is so heavily grazed by goats, that it is nearly always reduced to small clumps of 2 or 3 segments stems hidden beneath rocks. In cultivation, it can be grown in hanging baskets where it will become a lush plant, which will bloom every summer and display nice little sweetly scented flowers, with yellowish green petals and ivory corolla.
