Small tree with short trunk and gnarled crown, beautiful thin imparipinnate leaves, with winged rachis and small leaflets, it is one of the around ten species endemic to Socotra, which together with B. elongata, is the most used as source of Frankincense.
Discreet cream white flowers on panicles at the end of branches.
